Sociopath:A Memoir - Patric Gagne - Top Book Pick!

Memoir

Rating: 9/10

Wow. Just wow.

This author has spilled the deepest parts of herself on the page and delivered an astonishingly intimate portrait of a life full of inner turmoil. Brutally honest and brilliantly written.

The result is a revelatory memoir that follows our PhD holding author through her childhood and beyond as she struggles to come to terms with her own sociopathy, shedding light on a maligned and misunderstood disorder. She has offered her story because she feels it’s essential to illustrate the truth no one wants to admit, that darkness is where you least expect it.

Patric realized something about her made other people uncomfortable as early as kindergarten. She knew she was different and started on a path to understanding herself.

Once she was finished college, she believed her future was grim. After all there was no treatment for the madmen and evil villains people pictured when you spoke the word sociopath. Instead of falling victim to that grimness, she embarks on a journey to change her fate and build a full life.

One with a husband, children, friendships, and her very own patients as a therapist. One where she enjoys cooking, reading, and writing. One where she doesn’t become the serial killer most assumed was her destiny as a sociopath.

If, as the author declares, sociopaths are hiding everywhere, in plain sight, how long will it take you to start looking just a little bit closer at those around you.
