99 Books To Read Before You Die
Every book related website, whether curated by professional writers, publishers or booklovers, is awash in some variation of "100(ish) Books To Read Before You Die". After perusing many of these lists, I can say with confidence that they are heavily redundant, somewhat elitist, and likely comparable to the most boring assignment you have gotten since high school. Surely there must be a better list of books I can recommend you keep company with in your dying days. So, here goes!
Elements Of Noir Fiction
With the rise of popularity of story’s that fall within this once niche genre, I thought it would be fun to share what are considered the key ingredients that go into writing one. This is one of my favourite genres, and with it expanding like a beautiful shadow in the literary world, I am excited to see where it takes us!
You Know Who You Are…
I prefer my characters with an edge, with deep complexities, especially those of the the female persuasion. Maybe because I am one. Whatever peril they might be facing, I want them to be trying to liberate themselves from what society expects of them. And it that means they are deeply flawed or unlikable, I'm there for it. Here I have gathered for you some of my favourites…enjoy!
Well, Dead(ish)
If you’ve spent time pursuing my website, you might expect from the title of this post that something nefarious is looming. A guest will be poisoned, ghosts will be in attendance or maybe a deadly game will be played. I can’t tell you that none of that will happen. We can only dream…
Come One, Come All…
I have noticed something among my friends. Whenever I start yammering on about my love of reading and how essential I believe books are, their eyes start to glaze over.
