When a novel has on opening scene that leaves you clenching your belly with laughter, you can rest assured the amusement won’t stop there.
“Is this going to be how I meet my end? Either strangled by my shirt or roasted to a crisp by a grow light?”
Our charming main character, a Grannie who has been left without work after a fire at the diner where she is employed and without funds of any kind after some unwise investments, quickly regrets not going with her instinct to keep her hard-earned retirement savings under her mattress.
What’s the old girl to do? Desperate times…desperate measures! As she finds herself getting aged out of jobs she interviews for, she bumbles upon an opportunity that utilizes her gardening skills and pays too! In short order granny is setting up a grow op in her basement and learning the ways of the weed world from several unconventional characters. All while attending her weekly get togethers with The Company of Crones. A group of mature ladies that discuss everything from books to booty calls.
