Retro Read: Girl With The Dragon Tattoo Series - Stieg Larsson & David Lagercrantz
/Thriller
Rating: 8/10
The books in this series are grisly, complex, and intelligent in plot as well as ingenious at building dysfunctional and enigmatic characters.
The stories bring together troubled genius hacker Lisbeth Salander, a woman in her twenties with a photographic memory, poor social skills and a horrific backstory, and Mikael Blomkvist, an investigative journalist under scrutiny after the publication of an article with unsubstantiated facts.
These books are not breakneck speed page turners which is a wonderful change of pace in our recent release offerings. They never feel like a by the number’s thriller. The twists and revelations work all the better for being worked for, rather than flung at the reader, two to a page.
