Your phone rings. You glance at the screen and it says, “Unknown Caller”. I really wouldn’t pick that up. If you read this book you will certainly think twice.

I knew that my suspicion about chain letters was justified. A girl is kidnapped, and her mother must pay ransom as well as kidnap another child to get her own child freed. And then those parents must follow all the same diabolical steps in this nasty chain. And so on…Is it really that hard to believe that everyday people could be coerced into committing crimes to save their child?

The concept was unique and creative. The pace was relentless, and the tension level was to the point I was on the edge of my seat!

Footnote: While most Summer Reading Lists are a compilation of recent light hearted romances, I prefer books that are more action oriented. Let’s call them absurd escapism. And this fun read falls into my made-up category!
