I Know Who You Are - Alice Feeney
/Mystery/Thriller
Rating: 3/10
My dislike for this novel had me second guessing my enjoyment of this authors debut last year. I wasn’t effusive in my praise or recommending to everyone in my crosshairs or anything like that, but I went back for more.
Big mistake. No one to blame but myself.
The story follows an actress who has spent her life adopting identities other than her own and finds herself under suspicion for imaged atrocities committed against her missing husband. There are definitely atrocities depicted in this book, and frankly in the reading of it.
This book wasn’t for me, clearly, but that’s not to say it might not be okay for someone less sensitive to multiple off-putting themes.
Footnote: I saw a comment somewhere that suggested that the reader should be prepared to “devour this book whole”. Only if one is prepared to experience a level of vomiting only previously seen in The Exorcist. I certainly feel I need a cleansing of some sort after this one.
