Dark Hollow - John Connolly
/Mystery
Rating: 8/10
βAll of these images, all of these memories, like the forged links of a chain, stretch back into darkness. They should be put away, but the past is not so easily denied. Things left unfinished, things left unsaid, they all, in the end, come back to haunt us. For this is the world, and the echo of worlds.β Put simply, Connolly is a poet at heart. His writing is both musical and lyrical. Even though this tale of death is heinous, the use of language and its order lulls you into a sense of safety.
Footnote: You will feel bereft when you get to the last word.
