After 15 years of hosting The Mercer Report, which claimed as it’s set the roughly 10 million square kilometres that is Canada, Rick Mercer has delivered his final report and gifted us with this collection. Compiled of the best rants, never before heard rants and select memories, this is a short and highly enjoyable read.

While in rant mode we get glimpses of the sharp wit of John Oliver and Trevor Noah, in almost every other aspect we get what can only be described as uniquely Canadian humour. For example, when Mr. Mercer allows himself to be covered in peanut butter, which is then licked off by adorable puppies. Or in the act of sending his Mother a photo, accidently attaches a dick pic. Trust me on this, he tells it better!

A Few Fav Rants:

· Correct way to use an escalator (also applies to sidewalks!)

· Our tech is torturing us, constant threats of updates and downloads and information you never asked for.

· The right to offend. We will tell you what we think and then politely apologize.

· Used to be when you saw a guy in the car next to you in thrall to whatever was in his lap, along with obvious rapid hand movements, you concluded…hand job in traffic break. Now, he’s just texting.

· Seasonal amnesia. Every year we forget what winter is going to bring.

Footnote: As the final credits rolled, Raise A Little Hell by Trooper played. It doesn’t get more Canadian than that, except maybe Anne Murray. Small blessings…
