This story opens with the narrator seeing a painting of her missing and suspected dead twin. She tracks the painting as one of a series called “sleeping women” which pushes us head first into our mystery. This story is not a simple one but is an intricate tale of families, childhood ghosts, abuse, evil, madness, art and beauty. The passages of suspense penned by the author are both unique and breathtaking. If you decide to give it a try and enjoy the read the author has several more books which can be explored.

Footnote: Set in New Orleans, which means you can be assured of an atmospheric and gothic setting.
