A Killer's Game - Isabella Maldonado

Thriller

Rating: 7.5/10

Grabbing a coffee before work, FBI agent and former military codebreaker Dani witnesses a murder on a Manhattan sidewalk, the victim being the chief of staff for a powerful senator. When she captures the killer, she soon uncovers a complex conspiracy. One where the only way to take down the Mastermind is from the inside.

When she heads undercover to work with a group of mercenaries and killers, she never expects to be caught in a complex trap. One with a puppet master, Nemesis, who informs her and the other’s that there will only be one left standing. And to get to that point, they must solve a series of riddles and mazes to move forward in the game and unlock the escape to freedom.

There was a lot to enjoy in this faced paced and gripping thriller, but I had the most fun as Dani took the reader along as she worked out all the puzzles she encountered.

I must confess, I have a bit of a girl crush on Dani. A voracious reader, fascinated by words, linguistics, and puzzles…what’s not to love!
