Branded a traitor and with a plan to clear his name, Jal accidently wanders onto a Guild ship. Before he can turn around, he is welcomed aboard by the ship’s captain, an AI with a frighteningly lifelike personality, and shot in the back by his ex-partner. As he wakes up, he finds himself on a very different mission than he intended. They are responding to a distress call from an abandoned planet where they find a mass grave and a live witness, who they “rescue” to get some answers. It doesn’t take a brain surgeon to gauge this assembled group of oddballs are in way over their heads.

From the first page to the last, you will be rooting for this messy and lovable found family. Gritty and gripping space adventure with a motley crew of ragtag misfits and outcasts that is absolute genius. Full of snarky banter, wickedly wacky fun, and moments that will hit you right in your soft places, read this. You can thank me later.
