King Of Battle & Blood - Scarlett St. Clair

Fantasy/Romance

Rating: 8/10

It’s unlikely that I’ll be found reading much in the romance genre but merge it with some vampire mythology and you can sign me up!

A powerful goddess has had her displeasure roused and as a result, unleashed a curse that caused many to crave blood. Since the incarnation of these vampires, their world has not known peace. There was no cure to fight the urges that were spawned, no ability to counter the magic or monsters that were awakened.

Isolde was sacrificed to Vampire King Adrian as her father endeavored to avoid war and protect his kingdom.  However, she soon hit a snag. Her people expected her to willingly execute Adrian, but her hunger for the ways in which he could satisfy her needs couldn’t be denied. And Adrian isn’t interested in a wife, he want’s a queen. And only Isolde will do.

The more time Issi spends by Adrian’s side and amongst his people, the more she questions her belief that they are nothing but monsters, coming to understand that there is a difference between a monster and someone who could be monstrous.

This book not only has excellent fantasy elements and vampire legends, but it’s also swoon worthy! Not to mention very very spicy!
