A Flicker In The Dark - Stacy Willingham
/Thriller
Rating: 8.5/10
An exceptional character driven thriller that you will think you’ve got all figured out and then the author unfolds twists and snarls you will never see coming. Which, unbelievably, is something missing from many of the books in this genre.
Twenty years after Chloe’s father was convicted of killing six young women, someone seems to be marking the anniversary by copying the crimes. As girls start to go missing, all the memories that have been haunting her for years come rushing back, putting her fragile grasp on happiness at risk.
If you love a monster, what does that make you? This is a question Chole has been struggling with for longer than she can remember. And as she pinballs from one theory of who can be committing these new murders to another, the reader will be hard pressed to catch their breath. Leaving both Chole and the reader asking themselves if her grasp on her mind is as fragile as that on her happiness.
A tightly written story with characters and relationships that are complex, tormented and best of all, utterly unreliable.
