If there was a literary equivalent for the phrase “chewing the scenery”, this book would be it.  Oh, the melodrama! Outrageous plot points and preposterous characters might inspire an eye roll but give it a minute and you’ll discover that may in fact be the point.

Lena’s estranged twin sister drove to a remote bridge and jumped two hundred feet to her death.  At least that’s the story the police are telling.

This wild ride of a read follows Lena as she attempts to get to the truth by any means necessary.  And that my readerly friends is not a statement meant to express exaggeration.  She pulls out all the stops and then some! Calling her driven would be an understatement.

The author does a fine job of ending every chapter on a cliffhanger and constantly prolonging the ambiguity of which characters are the good guys and which are the bad. Techniques that keep the reader turning those pages. My only sore spot in the end is that the book thinks it’s much cleverer than it actually is.

A gritty and fast pace romp of a read!
