Thriller

Rating: 7.5/10

Jane is new to Alabama and making ends meet with a dog walking gig in an affluent neighbourhood when she meets Eddie, a recently widowed resident.

While things appear to be looking up for both of our characters as a romance blossoms, Jane is clearly hiding secrets from her past while continuing to tell tales in the present and Eddies path to becoming a widower is neither straight nor narrow.

As we readers get a peak of what’s happening behind closed doors, a thrill ride of a read unfolds that amounts to a delightful gossip session. To say anything more may spoil your fun, and we don’t want that!

It can’t be denied that the book jacket copy reads like hundreds of other books released with the word wife in the title in the last few years. There are revelations and variations that allow it to stand apart, but only slightly.

Book Pairing(s): The Wives by Tarryn Fisher, The Silent Patient by Alex Michaelides, The End of Her by Shari Lapena
