Crib Notes-Fully Baked!

Baked has more than one principal meaning in my life, and when paired up the result can be quite delightful! For the purposes of this crib notes we will focus on the baking that is legal in all states and provinces across North America.

I LOVE LOVE LOVE sweet baked treats, but fully admit I prefer to be baked for rather than make any attempt whatsoever to do the baking.  I am effusive in my gratitude for anyone that serves me up a yummy sweet. I might even be brought to tears!

ROSES BAKING BASICS– Rose Levy Bernbaum

Step by step photo instructions help guide the baker through these classic favourites. Lots of tips for the novice and lots of mouthwatering selections to contemplate. If anyone wants to make me the Apple Walnut Bundt Cake, I would be okay with that.

MODERN BAKING – Donna Hay

Encompassing both the standards and new versions of some of the classics, this book can be a baker’s bible for anyone’s kitchen. Big focus on chocolate, which is nothing to complain about! Each section has a recipe chapter, a quick recipe chapter, and a healthy recipe chapter.

SWEET MARY JANE – Karin Lazarus

Delicious cannabis infused desserts. So, two birds, one stone? Or is it stoned? Using premium ingredients and unique flavor combinations, this chef has been declared to be “the Martha Stewart of weed baking”.

P.S. - sorry for breaking the rules laid out in the intro…

BOBBETTE & BELLE – Allyson Bobbitt

This is getting a recommendation based on my taste testing several of the goodies from the pastry shop of the same name. Hands down one of the best scones I have ever had! Beautiful book and a lovely shop if you live in Toronto and have a chance to go.
