Describing Hiaasen’s characters as hilarious and over the top is an understatement.

This particular story opens with a sassy and brassy woman being tossed overboard from a cruise ship by her larcenous husband. But instead of drowning as expected, she stays afloat until rescued by someone else’s questionable choice in a spouse.

As the saying goes, hell hath no fury…these two, along with a ragtag group of misfits they meet along the way, hatch a sadistic plot for revenge.

It was great fun to watch the deplorable behavior exhibited in what can only be defined as pure Hiaasen. Witty, satirical and shrewd in its writing.

Footnote: As with all this authors works, karma is unquestionably a bitch!
