As a flawed and broken family gathers for the impending demise of the patriarch, we learn about the paths that brought them to this point in time. We discern through these intimate disclosures both the small and big moments that shape a life. That make a life. That made their lives.

Our main character seeks to understand all the secrets kept by her parents, believing that if she knows why they are the way they are, she will know why she is the way she is.

All of our characters are in turmoil and in some way fractured from each other, and yet they come to terms with the secrets that have kept for decades. And those they will keep for decades to come.

Footnote: How does that saying go? Every family is dysfunctional in their own way? I pray for us all that it’s not in this particular way!
