Or as I like to think of it, dysfunction junction! I tend to steer clear of contemporary “drama” as the tone is often whiny, and the characters so hard done by. This was a well written exception to the rule for me. Layered with enough dark humor to keep me interested. Also told from the viewpoint of multiple narrators which ensures a reader they don’t become weary of the same voice throughout. The characters are flawed, crazed, neurotic and heroic. They bring out the absolute best and worst of each other. We can all relate, pun intended.
